GENERAL HEALTH

PREVENTION & WELLNESS

IMMUNISATIONS / VACCINATIONS
Child immunisations are administered at the Baralaba Hospital with child health nurse.
Every year, Baralaba Private Clinic will provide eligible patients with information and priority bookings for annual flu vaccinations.

FAMILY PLANNING

SKIN CHECKS & SKIN CANCER TREATMENT
It is highly recommended that a whole-body skin check is conducted, particularly if it is your very first check, or if you haven’t had one done for quite some time. Your skin changes as you continue to expose yourself to the sun so it’s important to continue checking your skin. We are able to conduct whole body skin checks. If you have never had your skin checked before, book in for your whole body skin check today!

PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICALS

ECG'S / SPIROMETRY / AUDIOMETRY
Spirometry is a test that assesses your breathing capability and can help in the diagnosis of different lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Audiometry is a test to measure hearing acuity for variations in sound intensity, pitch and tonal purity, involving thresholds and differing frequencies.

MINOR SURGICAL PROCEDURES

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT
One example of chronic disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a serious, progressive and disabling condition that limits airflow to your lungs. It includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. The symptoms often involve shortness of breath and frequent coughing.
The main cause is active smoking or exposure to smoking, although some people with COPD have never smoked in their lives. Similarly, asthma is also a type of chronic disease of the airways.
To best manage the associated symptoms of chronic disease, our doctors and nurses put together a tailored GP Management Plan (GPMP or Care Plan) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA). To find out more about how this works, click here.
